According to the mother of the Little Rock murder victim, Gary Burton Jr. killed her son while he was attempting to sell sneakers on Facebook Marketplace

Little Rock, Arkansas – Four persons were killed in Little Rock in the final week of January.

Anthony Jakob White, 19, was one of the victims; he was shot and died in the Westbridge Apartments on Labette Manor Drive, leaving his mother, Meagan Poe, devastated.

By speaking forward, she hopes to keep others from experiencing her suffering.

With tears in her eyes, Poe exclaimed, “I should never have buried my kid.”
More than two weeks have passed since White’s murder, and his mother still has the strength to go to the spot.

“My family was destroyed,” she remarked.

Poe claimed that officers informed her that her son had come to Labette Manor Drive while selling sneakers on Facebook Marketplace.

Poe exclaimed, “He was killed without cause.”

Jakob, Poe’s son, was unfamiliar with the Little Rock region.

She urges individuals to know before they go, regardless of the location or circumstance, particularly if it involves a stranger.

“Preferably, meet near a police station in a well-lit area. Tell folks where you’re going, what you’re doing, and who you’ll be seeing,” Poe said. “You might be just another number, so do whatever you have to do.” I don’t want to experience what I have or force another parent to bury their kid.

Two minors have been detained by Little Rock police in relation to this case and are facing adult charges of capital murder.
