Little Rock, Arkansas – The Judy Kohn Tenenbaum Argenta Community Theater (ACT) revealed a new show on Tuesday, February 13, “Shining Light: A Cabaret Celebrating Black Voices.”

By elevating the voices of black artists in the community and promoting their viewpoint, the cabaret honors black history.

ACT’s Operations Manager, Alycya Thomas, is in charge of organizing the event. In a press statement regarding the occasion, Thomas stated: “Showing up is so important. Having an event set aside to celebrate black artists in Central Arkansas is not only necessary in promoting representation and diversity in the arts but is also paramount to helping us find our unique artistic voices being black in a predominately non-black industry.”

The event is set to be hosted by ACT performer and Miss Conway, Ana Brandon. It will feature spoken word performances, music, and dance.

It is located at The Joint, just a few doors down from the Argenta Community Theater on Main Street. It is both family-friendly and open to all audiences.

“Shining Light” is a one-time performance scheduled for the night of Feb. 25. The show will begin at 7 p.m., with doors opening at 6:30 p.m.
