‘Back to School’ events organized by LRSD and Baptist Health prepare children for the upcoming year
Little Rock, Arkansas – Organizations all around Arkansas are organizing programs to help youngsters get ready for a successful start to the upcoming semester, which is quickly approaching.
To provide students the tools they’ll need for a successful year, the Little Rock School District hosted a “Back to School Bash” at Western Hills Elementary on Saturday morning.
In addition to giving away bicycles and Museum of Discovery and Arkansas Travelers tickets, the event gave youngsters uniforms and school necessities.
To help students catch up on their required immunizations, Baptist Health hosted a free immunization clinic across the river.
The venue for the Baptist Health event was North Little Rock’s New Hope Baptist Church.
The following locations are scheduled to host clinics in the future :
• Heaven’s Loft (518 W. 26th St.), Wednesday, Aug. 7, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• Sylvan Hills United Methodist Church (9921 AR 107), Thursday, Aug. 8, 4-7 p.m.
• Mosaic Church of Central Arkansas (6221 Colonel Glenn Road), Tuesday, Aug. 13, 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
• Little Rock Southwest Community Center (6401 Baseline Road), Wednesday, Aug. 14, 3 to 7 p.m.
• West Central Community Center (8616 Colonel Glenn Road), Thursday, Aug. 15, 3 to 7 p.m.
• Greater 2nd Baptist Church (5615 Geyer Springs Road), Saturday, Aug. 17, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• Baptist Health Community Outreach (10117 Kanis Road), Monday, Aug. 19, 2 to 7 p.m.
• Jacksonville Middle School (2300 Linda Lane), Saturday, Aug. 10, Noon to 4 p.m.
