Beginning on October 11th, Little Rock and North Little Rock will see detours due to Phase 2 openings on the I-30 westbound Arkansas River Bridge
Little Rock, Arkansas – This weekend marks the start of a second phase of traffic shifts on Interstate 30 in Little Rock and North Little Rock, according to Arkansas traffic officials.
Beginning at 10 p.m., construction on I-30 will block all westbound lanes and provide detours. On Friday, October 11th, till 5 a.m. on Monday the 14th. The construction won’t have an impact on eastbound traffic.
This is the second of three stages of traffic changes to move onto the river bridge, according to representatives of the Arkansas Department of Transportation.
Before reaching the river bridge in North Little Rock, there will be only one lane available for westbound traffic on I-30. After that, traffic will be diverted to the new Little Rock downtown exit, which is Exit 140, which is 4th Street in Little Rock.
In order to access I-30 westbound, westbound traffic will continue onto the southbound frontage road and utilize the 9th Street on-ramp.
Traffic heading west on Interstate 630 will continue onto the frontage road heading south and will use the recently opened ramp leading to I-630 westbound.
According to ARDOT officials, the I-30 westbound river bridge will have six lanes. Before crossing the river bridge, motorists must choose whether to go out into Little Rock’s downtown.
In order to exit into I-630 or downtown Little Rock, traffic must use the two right lanes; to stay on I-30 westbound, traffic must use the two left lanes.
