Conway police warn of scam targeting residents
Conway, Arkansas – Conway police put out a warning Sunday of a scam targeting residents.
Police said the scammer is calling and asking for donations over the phone on behalf of the Conway Police Department. Police said they are not asking for donations at this time and not to donate.
Once a year, the Fraternal Order of Police will call residents to ask for donations, but they will never ask for a cash donation, according to police.
If you get a call asking for a donation, police ask that you call them directly to check out the legitimacy of the call.
