Employee mistake led to some voters receiving the wrong ballot, according to the Pulaski County Clerk’s Office
Pulaski County, Arkansas – Some voters were affected by an error, and the Pulaski County Clerk’s Office replied.
A report from Pulaski County Clerk Terri Hollingsworth’s office states that on October 23, they received a call from a voter stating that their ballot did not specify a race. Authorities claimed to have looked into the matter and found a solution.
Voters on that street were given a different ballot due to an employee changing the street file, according to the clerk’s office.
Although 132 people may have been affected by the adjustment, the clerk’s office stated that only four voters received the incorrect ballot and that the outcome of the election was unaffected.
The county clerk’s office has fired the worker responsible for the mistake, according to officials.
“It is important to maintain transparency and honesty regarding the error,” Hollingsworth stated in the release, explaining why they contacted the Pulaski County Election Commission about the occurrence. The mistake that occurred in my office is my responsibility as an elected official. By reporting the incident, I wanted to do the right thing.
