Following the mass shooting at a grocery store, Fordyce residents are on high alert

Fordyce, Arkansas – Following a large-scale shooting at a grocery store in Fordyce, Arkansas, the neighborhood has become silent.
“I think a lot of people are not ready to come out yet. They will eventually, but not right now. I think it may have brought a lot of fear on people,” A Fordyce resident shopping at Walmart said.
Fourteen people—eleven civilians, two law enforcement officers, and the suspect—were hurt by gunfire on Friday.
The shooting claimed the lives of four persons.
The four individuals that passed away were Shirley Taylor, 62, Callie Weems, 23, Roy Sturgis, 50, and Ellen Shrum, 81.
Following his arrest, Travis Eugene Posey, 44, of New Edinburg, was charged with four counts of first-degree murder; further charges are still pending.
“I don’t see how anybody can flip their lid like that,” the shopper said.
There are several dozen bullet holes in the Mad Butcher building, and glass pieces are all across the parking lot.
Due to the incident, the store is currently closed. A notice outside asks customers to “please pray for our community.”
There aren’t many grocery stores in the city other from the Mad Butcher.
The incident, according to many in Fordyce, has made people more cautious when they shop.
“It’s a very eerie feeling in Fordyce right now,” said a shopper.
The mass shooting at the supermarket store has made customers fearful.
A customer claims that she is afraid because “there are copycats sometimes.” We can only hope that the imitators won’t surface.
This small town has a great deal of affection for one another despite tragedy, and they don’t let it break them.
“It’s a terrible thing that happened, but you know what? God will take care of it. It’s in God’s hands,” the shopper said.
