For the second consecutive year, Little Rock Parkview wins the state championship by defeating Shiloh Christian

Little Rock, Arkansas – Little Rock Parkview has won two straight seasons as the Class 5A champion.
Thanks to quarterback Eric McGhee’s 319 total yards and five touchdowns, the top-ranked Patriots defeated Shiloh Christian 55-12 on Saturday to win the Class 5A state championship at War Memorial Stadium.
With the win, Parkview finished 2023 with a perfect 14-0 record, averaging 46.71 points per game and winning by an average margin of 36.71.
The first half saw the Patriots score six touchdowns, starting with a 67-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Brian Keenan to wide receiver Elston Monterrio.
On six catches, Monterrio gained 142 receiving yards and two touchdowns, measuring 67 and 32 yards respectively. Parkview limited Shiloh Christian to 217 yards of offense while finishing with 444 yards overall.
With 6:39 remaining in the second quarter, running back Omarion Robinson scored a 14-yard rushing touchdown to put the Patriots ahead 28 to 0.
Two minutes later, the Saints sliced into Parkview’s advantage when quarterback Cole Creighton found wide receiver Carter Holman for a 37-yard touchdown.
However, the Patriots continued to find their way into the endzone, just as they had done the whole season.
The Patriots led 42–6 at the half when McGhee, who led Parkview on the ground with 49 yards on six carries, scored on a one-yard rushing touchdown on the next play.
In the game that decided the state championship, Parkview scored eight scores on 13 possessions and forced five errors.
