Jonesboro has an early Christmas arts and crafts market
Little Rock, Arkansas – For shoppers in Jonesboro, Christmas has come early.
At Arkansas State University’s First National Bank Arena, Little Bita Christmas was celebrated.
Bill Templeton, a former coach at Arkansas State, came up with the idea for the 36th running of the event in order to support student-athletes.
There were 20 merchants at the event when it first began. The Red Wolves Foundation’s Executive Director of Administration, Gina Winchester, stated that this year there were more than 200 merchants.
“Lit’l Bita Christmas Arts and Craft show has become the largest craft show in the midsouth region,” she said.
Numerous people attend the event in the arena.
Attendees have the chance to purchase a wide range of things, all manufactured locally, including everything from clothing and jewelry to door hangers and soaps.
The chance to sell during Lit’l Bita Christmas is particularly essential for merchants like Megan Million.
“This is the biggest event I have ever set up at. It’s been a dream for me to set up here,” she said.
According to Million, Lit’l Bita Christmas is significant not just for the merchants, who get to showcase their work, but also for the community, which has the chance to support local businesses.
“Everything here is locally crafted, handmade. A lot of work and labor goes into it so it’s like a win-win for everyone,” she said.
The event will be held on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for those who still desire an early taste of Christmas.
