Ken Duke, Arkansas pro golfer, excited to share home state with the world’s finest PGA Champions

Little Rock, Arkansas – Competitors flocked to the green Tuesday for the Simmons Bank Championship, presented by Stephens Inc.

Prior to the start of the second leg of the Charles Schwab Cup on Friday, October 25, the 51 professional golfers had a chance to rehearse the course at Pleasant Valley Country Club.

Ken Duke, a professional golfer from Arkansas, claimed to feel he has a home course advantage because so many opponents traveled from all over the world to compete in the Natural State.

Duke remarked, “It’s just wonderful to see all of our friends who play on the tour and have never visited Arkansas to see what Arkansas has to offer.”

Born in Hope, Arkansas, the PGA Tour Champion golfer attended Henderson State University (HSU) before to becoming pro in 1994.

He practiced the front nine of the Simmons Bank Championship course after returning to HSU on Tuesday.

“A few caddies have contacted me for advice on dinner-related topics, such as this hole and that hole. even the athletes,” Duke remarked.

The players vying for the top 36 slots in the Charles Schwab Cup’s second tournament will advance to the third and final event of the season.

“That’s okay,” Duke remarked, adding that he had already secured his cup to travel to Arizona for the Charles Schwab Cup the following week or two weeks. However, this week we’re attempting to learn. That isn’t important to us at the moment.

The prize money is above $2 million as well. Duke stated that he is excited to participate for additional reasons besides that and his sponsorship.

It’s in full view of everyone. My hometown, you know,” Duke remarked. “That is the most important thing.”

A friendly tournament between a professional and an amateur will take place on Wednesday and Thursday. On Tuesday night, the amateurs were drawn to be matched with a professional.
