Kimberly J. Williams, a guest speaker from Arkansas Tech, is assisting with eclipse preparations for 2024
Little Rock, Arkansas – Kimberly J. Williams, a tourism specialist, will talk on Thursday, November 17 at Arkansas Tech University on the 2024 North American eclipse and its prospective effects on the Arkansas River Valley.
Williams will talk in the Doc Bryan Student Services Center Lecture Hall at 1 p.m., according to a press release. Attendance is open to everyone and is free.
Williams is the director of the Great River Road/All-American Road in Arkansas, a travel writer for the Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage, and Tourism, and the project manager for the department’s 2024 eclipse planning, according to a news release.
Russellville, Arkansas, will be among the top 10 locations in North America to see the total solar eclipse on April 8, 2024, according to Astronomy magazine.
On a website devoted to the event in 2024, the American Astronomical Society claims that a total solar eclipse is “one of the most spectacular views in all of nature.”
Williams projects that at least 1.5 million people will visit Arkansas for the 2024 event, based on information from recent total solar eclipses that occurred over South Carolina and Wyoming.
