North Little Rock will host the unveiling of the Trail of Tears memorial
North Little Rock, Arkansas – This week will see the opening of a new public art piece in the Argenta Arts District, according to the Argenta Downtown Council.
A glass and metal sculpture honoring the Trail of Tears will be unveiled by the council on Tuesday at 2 p.m. in front of the Argenta Branch of the North Little Rock Public Library System, located at 420 Main Street.
Ed Pennebaker of Red Fern Glass is the artist responsible for the glass installation. His trademark natural elements are combined with a powerful statement about the tenacity and fortitude of the Native American communities impacted by the Trail of Tears in this sculpture.
