Little Rock, Arkansas – In the early hours of Thanksgiving, before indulging in turkey and dressing, runners in Little Rock take to the streets for a charitable cause.

The Gobbler Turkey Trot, organized by Rock City Running, kicked off on Thursday morning in the Pleasant Valley neighborhood, attracting over 1,700 participants, including both adults and children.

The competition included runs of three, four, and six miles.

Even though the race had no entry fee, participants generously donated over 2,400 pounds of food and more than $2,000 to the Arkansas Food Bank.

With just a one-dollar donation, five meals can be provided to an individual residing in Arkansas.
