Second Child Abuse Center opens in Jacksonville

Little Rock, Arkansas – Jacksonville now has a second clinic accessible to help victims of child abuse.
“This is national child abuse prevention month. This is what it’s about, it’s about the community coming together, about families coming together, to make sure these kids, they don’t feel like they’re alone when they’re experiencing something like this, they can truly heal from the trauma by having the support of the community to make sure we’re there for them,” says Itzel Meador, chairman of Children’s Protection Center.
In December of last year, the Jacksonville North Pulaski School District and the Child’s Protective Center (CPC) announced their joint effort.
The $1.5 million center will offer those in need free services like forensic examinations, mental health treatments, medical tests, and more.
The only agency in Pulaski County that manages advocacy services, educational initiatives, and investigations into child abuse is the Children’s Protective Center.
