Shorter College appoint Dr. Jeffery W. Norfleet II as Interim President

Little Rock, Arkansas – Dr. Jeffrey W. Norfleet II has been named the next Interim President of Shorter College.

Norfleet was able to show his worth and dedication to the college as they carried out their mission and vision as Provost and Vice President.

He also adds his ambition to keep the college moving forward and take on any obstacles that may arise.

Dr. Norfleet provides experience from her roles as Trevecca Nazarene University’s Director of the Quality Enhancement Plan, Assistant Professor of Leadership Studies, and Executive Director of Institutional Effectiveness.

He had a variety of positions at Trevecca Nazarene University, such as overseeing program and unit assessments, initiating and coordinating strategic planning, and instructing and mentoring graduate and doctorate students.

He also took part in bringing together a variety of stakeholders from the institution and the neighborhood to carry out the university’s objective.

In addition, Dr. Norfleet has held a position on the Tennessee Board of Regents, which oversees the state’s public two-year universities.

In addition, he served as the Tennessee Higher Education Commission’s (the state entity that sets higher education policy) Director of Academic Affairs.

In addition to managing many other duties, he oversaw the Tennessee Accreditation Network, directed off-campus instruction, supported the creation of new academic programs for public higher education institutions, and launched the Black Male Success Initiative while holding these positions.

He graduated from Tennessee State University with a Bachelor of Science in Humanities, a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction, and a Doctor of Education in Leadership and Professional Practice from Trevecca Nazarene University.

Dr. Norfleet will be essential in furthering Shorter College’s dedication to “Your Path to Possible” while acting as Interim President.
