Spring enrollment at Lyon College demonstrates high retention rates and positive growth
Batesville, Arkansas – Enrollment for spring 2024 has been announced by Lyon College administrators.
558 students are enrolled overall for the spring 2024 semester, a 27% increase over the 440 students enrolled for the spring 2023 semester.
From fall 2023 to spring 2024, first-time, full-time student retention was at or near record levels, at 92%.
Lyon College’s individualized approach to teaching and unwavering commitment to creating a supportive learning environment are the reasons for this high rate of retention for first-year students.
The college’s emphasis on partnerships with two-year colleges and the expansion of its International Education program from 23 students in spring 2023 to 37 students in spring 2024 are the main reasons for Lyon College’s notable increases in transfer and international student enrollment this semester.
“We are very pleased to see such a high freshman retention rate as well as strong growth in the overall student body. Both are testaments to Lyon College’s dedication to providing a top-tier education,” Provost Dr. Kurt Grafton said. “Our faculty and staff work tirelessly to cultivate an environment where students thrive academically, personally, and professionally.”
Dr. Melissa Taverner, president of Lyon College, emphasized the institution’s dedication to student achievement in echoing Dr. Grafton’s remarks.
“At Lyon, we prioritize the holistic development of our students, ensuring they have access to the resources and support necessary to excel in their academic pursuits,” Dr. Taverner said. “Our exceptional growth and retention rate are indicative of our collective efforts to empower students to reach their fullest potential.”
