Little Rock, Arkansas – On Thursday, a burger from a Cave City eatery was awarded Arkansas’s Best Burger by the Arkansas Beef Council.

The Caveman Burger from Bailey’s Family Restaurant won the Beef Council award for its two-pound ground beef patties served on a nine-inch bun with optional cheese, bacon, or double patty, despite Cave City being best known for its watermelons.

According to Caleb Plyler, chairman of the Arkansas Beef Council, “Arkansas beef producers are proud to produce the beef served on family dinner tables and in Arkansas’s favorite local burger spots.” “Congratulations to the winner of the Arkansas’s Best Burger Contest and the top 10 finalists.”

The top 10 finalists were chosen from over 2,400 nominations featuring over 410 distinct burgers.

An anonymous panel of judges gave the Caveman Burger the highest rating out of all the contenders. The burger patty’s flavor, presentation and look, cooking technique, and general impression were all taken into consideration while making an evaluation.

The competition, according to Arkansas Secretary of Agriculture Wes Ward, is evidence that the people of the Natural State value both supporting locally owned eateries and high-quality beef.

Arkansans place a high importance on the quality of beef and the commitment of our locally owned businesses to making the best burger, as evidenced by the tremendous response to the inaugural Arkansas’s Best Burger Contest, Ward said.
