Hot Springs, Arkansas – Following his death in an accident on July 31, 47-year-old Donnie Wrublesky is being remembered by the Lakeside High School community and football team.

Wrublesky was injured, clipped a curb, and then crashed a utility pole while driving on Malvern Avenue close to the Lakeside School administration building, according to a crash report.

According to Amy, Donnie’s wife, she “kept waiting for his phone call to say he had gotten to work” that morning.

She remarked, “He was just a man that everyone loved, and he loved everybody.”

Amy claimed that she “immediately shifted to wanting to honor his life” after learning that her husband of 24 years had been involved in an accident.

Donnie graduated from Lakeside High School in 1995 and played football for the Rams. His number was 75.

To memorialize him, each helmet now has the #75 helmet decal with the words “ALL IN.”

Donnie’s son Luke remarked, “All in is just kind of the way my dad lived his life.”

This family has a tradition of spending time by the lake. Donnie’s oldest kid runs cross country, and Luke plays football with his cousins Peter Ohman and Grady.

Luke remarked, “It’s fantastic to know that I’m competing on the same field as my dad.”

As Grady put it, “you know this field has something else to it, it’s just something different about it.”

As the coach of the Rams Lifer program, a youth football league, Donnie played a significant role in the football program.

Garren Rockwell, the head football coach at Lakeside, remarked, “You don’t find too many people like that to continue pumping into the community and into the football team after he’s all done with it.”

This season, according to Rockwell, is dedicated to Donnie, whose passing has caused the Rams to adopt a “All In” mentality.

The Donnie Wrublesky scholarship fund was established by the family. According to Amy, the scholarship is designed to help children who are searching for a second chance since it’s critical that they understand that someone is “all in” on their goals.

Please get in touch with Citizens Bank on Malvern Avenue if you would like to make a donation to the Donnie Wrublesky Football Scholarship.
