The United States Coast Guard has opened a new recruiting center in Little Rock
Little Rock, Arkansas – Yesterday marked the opening of a new recruiting office for the United States Coast Guard in the capital of the Natural State.
To commemorate the opening of the first office to open in Little Rock since the previous office closed ten years ago, the opening is being celebrated.
“People want to have different kinds of maritime opportunities, they wanna set sail, they want to work in environmental, and they wanna go out and do search and rescue and save people’s lives,” one official with the Coast Guard said. “This is the organization to be apart of and we are happy to be here to be able to offer that opportunity to them.”
“Having an opportunity to raise awareness of the Coast Guard, there are only a couple of units in Arkansas, and if you’re not right where they are, understanding what the Coast Guard is, what it does, the recruiters here in Little Rock are the ones who are gonna be able to spread that message,” another official said.
People who came to the event were given the opportunity to take part in a number of different activities, including a raffle and a game of cornhole.
It is located in Little Rock at 11312 Bass Pro Parkway Suite D, which is the location of the recruiting center.
