Covid-19
While the number of daily and active cases are seeing a slowdown, the number of hospitalizations in Arkansas is on the rise
Conway, Arkansas – While the number of daily cases and active cases across Arkansas are seeing a slowdown, the doctors in the hospitals have full hands of Covid-19 patients and more are coming.
According to the latest Covid-19 daily report issued on Monday, Arkansas added 986 new cases now reaching 436,262 since the start of the pandemic March 2020.
In the same report, 30 more Covid-19 related deaths were reported. The total number of deaths since the start of the pandemic has now reached 6,704.
The number of active cases is seeing a decrease from yesterday’s report for 1,802 and now that number is 23,576.
What is more alarming is the fact that the number of hospitalizations grew to 1,411, 42 more compared to Sunday’s report.
The number of people in critical condition with ventilator support reached 349, 12 more in just 24 hours period.
“Today’s increase in hospitalizations, deaths, and ventilator use is a daunting reminder of the seriousness of the Delta Variant. Now that the Pfizer vaccine is FDA approved, we should see vaccine acceptance increase,” Gov. Hutchinson said on Twitter.
